The OEM shock from BMW is a Sachs and has a hydraulic preload adjustment knob at the top, and a rebound damping adjuster at the bottom, but no compression damping control. I had the preload set to the maximum amount and the rebound set somewhere from 70% to max damping. Still bottomed out.
The Sertão’s off-road biased suspension creates a seat height far less welcoming of short folks, and you won’t find a low seat option for the Sertão as you will for the standard 650GS. However, there is an optional tall seat (35.4 inches, $239). The Sertao doesn’t let a little water get in the way of adventure. The dealer said the G650 Xcountry was aboput the closest they had to F650 GS. They did not have one but from what I can see from the web is it is shorter and has a different seat. So far I can not find any side bags and the BMW windshield is too small. Must admit the 4.9 financing isn't bad.
