Bothcities are architecturally and culturally similar, though I prefer Budapest because of the prices and the city is a bit more easily navigable Reply reply beezyfbb • Thanks so much for both of your replies!! I didn't realize budapest was any cheaper that prague or other cities in eastern/center europe Reply reply
FlixBusoperates a bus from Budapest Kelenföld bus station to Prague 3 times a day. Tickets cost 950 Kč - 1 400 Kč and the journey takes 5h 55m. Alternatively, Hungarian Railways (MÁV) operates a train from Budapest-Nyugati to Praha Hlavni Nadrazi every 4 hours. Tickets cost 650 Kč - 800 Kč and the journey takes 6h 41m.
3days in Budapest and 2 in Prague is good but but not ideal. 4-5 days in Budapest and 3 in Prague is much better. In some respectsbyou might want to take all 5 days in Budapest. How do you plan to travel between the cities. You have to figure at least 1 day of travel between the 2 or an overnight train. 2.
Iwould do the overnight option to maximize your time in both places. Posted by frank. pittsburgh. 08/30/15 10:03 AM. 162 posts. I Would advise spending Christmas in Prague. Vienna, Salzburg, and Budapest are nice, but they really celebrate the Christmas/Advent holiday and a lot of attractions are closed dec 24-26.
