The Apple "Photos" app is specifically a JPEG oriented app, but it understands how to read in RAW data. But since it's designed for JPEG editing, it converts all RAW files to JPEG upon import (but you don't lose the RAW -- it never discards the original data.) Apple's "Aperture" app is a true RAW workflow photo app.

The 6D Mark II photo was brighter here also, which suggests that either the camera records the scene more brightly or that the Raw data produces a different result in Lightroom. Here is a zoom in.

Looks like there must be a setting I need to change in Lightroom. Just took one shot and plugged SD card into Laptop. Viewing the SD card both images are there, RAW and Jpeg. Also loaded the one image into Picasa and it has both images. Load it into Lightroom and there is only one image, the Raw pic. 0 Likes. Ak9X.
