Alternator issue or? My battery light has been on for the last month or so whilst driving without any obvious adverse effects, & I have been driving it in test mode to check the voltage. It tends to fluctuate between 13.6 - 14.1v or so whilst driving. (This same voltage was also recorded at idle with aircon on max./high beam).
Ford Focus Mk2 Common Problems Thread. By jamesm182, October 11, 2013 in Ford Focus Club Share and varying alternator load like lights & de-misters, then that
On more than just on forum, I got the distinct impression that the Ford Focus had some sort of mystery surrounding my Battery light symptom. At least four instances were cited where the post indicated both battery and alternator replacement did not resolve their battery light issues. $120 for a battery, $600-800 I read were typical costs for 1. Make a Visual Inspection of the System. With the engine off, pop the hood open and visually inspect the different components of the charging system. Look for a worn-out or loose drive belt, alternator connection problems, loose alternator mounting bolts, and corrosion and dirt around the battery case and cables. The Focus MK2 requires a Silver/Calcium or Calcium/Calcium battery. The charging voltage required to charge this type of battery is between 14.4 and 14.8 Volts. The low battery voltage can also cause several communication errors. I am looking for some advice I have a ford fucus 2007 1.6 diesel my alternator as gone I went to order a new one and there are two different types a 120 amp and a 150 amp but no one can tell me the correct one the old part on the cards not got no number or sticker or anything on it I called my KiHZAp.
